As a Healthcare Assistant you will be an integral member of the care team and it will be expected that you ensure the residents are fully supported and assisted in the home.
The position of Healthcare Assistant can be very physically and mentally challenging but can be very rewarding at the same time. Candidates will be expected to understand the empathy required to do this job for ALL residents.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome candidates to apply who have no previous experience, we will give full support and guidance, for example for the first 2 weeks of your training you will shadow a full-time experienced member of staff.
What are your responsibilities:
- Promote as full a life as possible for ALL residents
- Assist with serving meals, drinks and cleaning
- Support on duty staff nurse and other healthcare workers
- Report any changes in conditions of staff to an on-duty nurse when required
- Incident and Accident reporting
- Equipment maintenance and cleaning where appropriate
- Accompany residents to on-site and off-site activities
- Other duties as and when required.
Requirements:
- Ideally working towards SVQ
- An understanding of National Care Standards and Codes of Conduct
- Maintain confidentiality
- Have a passion to deliver high levels of care at all times
- SSSC Registration or a willingness to register within a specified timescale
